| 21-9-2009 - Fainting | My mood while writing this blog:Surprised |
I went back to work today. Had a good morning because it turns out my project manager had changed her holidays to a week early, and was off today for a fortnight. So sat checking my emails for the first hour, then got up made tea, had a banana and went back to my desk. Was up three times for the loo too. Went for lunch at 12 and had an egg roll and tomato soup. Went back to work after about half hour. Sat down at desk and after about 15 mins I had a conversation with my admin worker at my desk. We were just chatting when I get this dreadful pain in my stomach (toilet pain). I stood up and said I think I'm gonna be sick. I stood for a second waiting to judge if I should go to the toilet or not, and I started to turn cold and broke out in a cold sweat. My admin said to me 'you've gone chalk white'. At that point my vision went all blurry and I just knew I was going to faint. I have nearly fainted once before in my life, after I donated blood and it was an experience I will never forget. This was so like it that I knew it was a faint. I went into the other wee room next to my office and lay on the floor, putting my feet up on a chair. Irony is that I'm the first aider. I thought about calling another first aider from the next floor down, but honestly the minute I was on the floor I improved. I lay there for around 5 mins and then very slowly got up. I went back and sat at my desk, and for the rest of the afternoon I was a wee bit wobbly, and had a terrific headache behind my left eye. I have called the doctor and made a telephone consultation for tomorrow, because the first appointment they can give me is Thursday morning. So I'll chat with her tomorrow and see what she wants me to do.
I suppose this is normal in pregnancy? What I don't get is that I thought I had covered the eating little and often, and drinking plenty of water (3/4 litre throughout the morning). This took me by surprise.
