22 week update -
All going good this week, feeling absolutely huge! But I'm comforted by the fact that all the women on the Week 22 forum are mentioning the same thing. Week 22 says we should be comfortable with our pregnancies at this point, and our movement shouldn't be too impaired. Well! I can't put my socks on with my trousers on anymore. I have to put my socks on first, then my trousers. And I'm not sure if I dropped a £10 note that I'd even bother to pick it up!
Baby is moving around and we think we actually saw my belly move very slightly. I know where my pulse shows and it wasn't there. It was right beside my belly button and just a very slight movement, but it was in time with the tapping I was feeling. Husband saw it too so I'm sure I'm not mad.
So, so tired this week! Cannot for the life of me get out of bed to get into work early like I usually do. So I'm having to come to terms with going in later and therefore coming home later. Boohoo. I like to leave work at 4, not 5. I think the hour between 4 and 5 is the longest hour of the day.
I had been suffering badly with indigestion at night, but this appears (I say tentatively) to have gone away in the last few evenings. I do hope so. I am so OVER feeling unwell.
Oh and one other thing! People want to touch me!!!! I don't let them because up to a few weeks ago this belly was just fat, and now they want to touch it. Let's face it, it's not like they are feeling baby, who resides quite happily low down underneath my belly button. He/She does not live above my belly button and therefore HANDS OFF ladies. One of my colleagues even touched my HAIR the other day!! WTF?
As expected I have three very small red marks just above my belly button, which can be nothing but stretch marks. It's inevitable I'll get these cause I have some already from when I went on the pill years ago. But I occasionally rub my belly with cream in the vague hope it might help.
I bought a pram and put a photo on but it's not a great picture. Too stretched. But I saw a woman out walking with our pram and it looks cool. And I bought a car seat with a base that remains in the car and will save me wrapping the seat belt around the car seat. So that's all good.
Seems in Scotland we get a grant after 25 weeks of £190.00. I believe it's called a Health Grant, but when I asked the midwife what I was meant to buy with it she advised me to wallpaper my hall if I felt like it! I've decided to invest in a cot instead. Think the baby may appreciate it a bit better. Anyway our hall is recently decorated.....
What else? Nine weeks on Friday I finish up on maternity leave. One week before Christmas!
That's it I think.
Hope everyone is having a great week.
