23-5-2008 - 3 hour glucose test Tired My mood while writing this blog:
Tired

I went yesterday for the 3 hour glucose test. I failed the one hour at 180! Wellllll the test did not go so well. I dank the stuff. The first hour I felt VERY tired! I could barely keep my eyes open but I had Hannah with me so I stayed awake. The second and third hour were fine. But all of a sudden when I went to leave I got EXTREMELY dizzy. I had planned on going to subway to get something to eat but quickly decided that I needed food NOW and to go directly home. While driving things went from bad to horrible! I started shaking uncontrollably, sweating and freezing at the same time, and momentarily felt like I was passing out. I got home (I should NOT have been driving and thankfully live a mile or so from the clinic) and panicked because how was I going to get Hannah out of the car AND myself! I mustered up the strength because I knew relief was just inside the door! I got Hannah into the house and set her down just inside the door. I got to the kitchen and shoved 3 cookies into my mouth. I sat on the floor and waited for the sugar to kick in. After about 10 minutes I was still shaking but not having little passing out moments. I got up and slapped together a tuna (already made in the fridge) sandwich and ate a 1/2 can of pringles. The entire event was very scary to me! I had GD with my last pregnancy so I have had the shakes before but never anything like this! I was very scared. Needless to say, I don't have much hope on passing the test and I am already following the diet that I was on when I was pg with Hannah. I don't ever want to do that again!
