18-6-2009 - Bed Rest !!!!!

My mood while writing this blog: Trying to find something to do .....

So as of Tuesday, June 16, I've been ordered to go on bedrest for 5weeks !!!!!! From here on out, i'm home.....nothing to do.

Allow me to start from the beginning. During my 18 week, my doctor discovered what she referes to as a "funnel". It's basically a space between my uteras and my cervix. This space is usually present in women who have had previous abortions and or cervical surgery. I've never had either. During every appointment, my doctor checks the funnel via a cervical sonogram. In theory, the wider the space gets, the shorter my cervical length should be getting. The past 2 appointments have shown that the space hasnt grown and therefore a cervical stitch wasnt needed. This latest appointment, however, showed that the funnel had grown to almost a centimeter, yet my cervical lenght hadnt shortened at all (thank you Jesus!). Of course the last thing we want to see is a shortened cervical lenght...this would indicate a sign of possible preterm labor. We managed to avoid having to do a cervical stitch but my doctor definitely wanted me to stop working until i reached my 28th week. I'm not confined to the bed but i'm not suppose to be doing daily activity such as shopping, going out to dinner etc.

Everything with Little Ricky looks good, we just wanna make sure that he stays nice and tight in mommy's belly until Oct.!!!! Keep us in your prayers and I'll keep you all updated on the next appoinment. Till Next Time ...HEALTHY BABY DUST TO ALL !!!! :)
