| 21-8-2009 - What's been going on..... | My mood while writing this blog:Kinda Bored (at work, lol) |
Hey Mommies and Mommies To Be,
Just wanted to give a quick update......
So this past Sunday I had to go to Labor and Delivery because I was thee worst stomach cramps EVER!!! I was literally bent over in pain. My DH had to dress me. It started around 3pm after I ate. I started feeling really sick which is not unusual after I eat too fast. I ended up throwing up (TMI sorry) and thought that the stomach aches would pass...they usually do after I upchuck. Well about 5 mins after, I started having the worst cramps i'v ever experienced so we called the emergency number for my doctor. I explained what was going on and she said that as long as I wasn't bleeding or leaking fluid that I should drink a cold glass of water and try to lay down. Well that worked for about an hour and then the cramps came back but this time they were more intense and about 1 min apart....I was like "LETS GO!!!!".
We got to the hospital and by then I wasnt in that much pain but I couldnt really feel the baby moving. They registered me, took an urine sample and hooked me up to the monitor via the waist/belly belt. The first nurse that came was pretty young and I could tell that she was all that experienced. She couldnt find my son's heartbeat, so she called another nurse in. The second nurse tried for a while and couldnt find his heartbeat...so she called the doctor's assistant. The assistant comes in with the ultrasound machine and tries for a good 5 mins to find the heartbeat all the while watching the clock. Now i'm getting upset. Meanwhile, no one is saying anything to me or Rick. Finally Rick's like "What is the problem???". The assistant was like, well at first we couldnt find his heartbeat because he was moving around so much....but now I've found him ...he's head up!! What ??? Head up? My son has been head down since like week 27!! Now in week 32 he's turned back up?? Unbelievable...The nurse just laughed and said he seems pretty active.....
So to make a long story short, the monitor didnt pick up any contractions....i'm 50% effaced but not dilated at all. The doctor said that with first time moms, they usually dont like to see any effacement this early but that doesnt indicate anything about pre-term labor. As long as i'm not dilating, and my cervix is still very hard and strong. The stomach pains had nothing to do with the little man. Apparently, my body is having a hard time digesting food since all my organs are pushed together to make room for junior to flip all around in my belly. They monitored me for another 20 mins and then sent us home. The best part was that I got a note to take off from work the next day :)
So thats all for now ladies.....much love and watch what you eat !!!!
