24-4-2009 - AMNIO RESULTS!

Today the lab/doctors called with my amnio results only a week after, and oh what a relief it was to find out that everything is fine with the baby. Though I am over 40 and that runs a high risk for having a baby with down syndrome and other chromosome issues, I was told everything came back normal. Despite being older, my eggs and uterus aren't too shabby I guess. I already knew I was aging gracefully on the outside, but I didn't know the inside was pickled as well. The amnio was the thing that had been worrying me really since I found out I was pregnant. I didn't find out until I was 15 weeks, and was really concerned I'd done some risky things like binge drinking earlier in the pregnancy during the most crucial time of development. But, I am so relieved now and can continue with the rest of my pregnancy at least not worrying about that. I feel for anyone who got the opposite results as I am sure it was heart breaking.
