| 01-7-2009 - WHAT TO PACK FOR DELIVERY | My mood while writing this blog:HAPPY |
IRISHBABY POSTED THIS and I thought it was brilliant. For those of you who don't already know what to pack, and some who do she added some things that I thought were good ideas. Here is her post in its entirety:
I divided my stuff into two bags. One for the labour and one for afterwardss when baby was born: For the labour a baggy t-shirt or nightdress, a pair of socks a flannel or facial sponge for cooling your face magazines and my ipod a hairband, lip balm, boiled sweets for energy, 2 bottles of lucozade or energy drinks I also packed some juices and crisps (chips) for my husband to keep his energy up! My other bag had: money for the car park 2 x change of clothes as I fed up in my pyjamas!, plus the other outfit was to go home in. I wore tracksuit bottoms on way home as my belly was still the size I was at 6 months pregnant. 1 pyjamas and 1 front opening nightdress, dressing gown, and slippers, 5 pairs of disposable knickers (or old ones that you don't mind throwing away would do.) a nursing bra, 10 maternity pads 20 breast pads, nipple cream, a wash bag with all usual stuff I need when away for a weekend. 1 bath towel for me and 1 for baby, I boutght cereal bars just for extra enery as I got really hungry in the middle of the night, any phone numbers that you may need to tell people the good news. For the baby 3 babygrows, 3 vests, a pair of scratch mitts, a pair of socks, a coat and warm hat if it's cold, or a sunhat if it's hot, a blanket, a pack of newborn-size nappies (I was getting through 10 a day to start with, baby wipes or cotton wool nappy bags, 2 muslin squares, and a car seat. This was based on staying in the hospital for up to two days. I ended up staying in hospital for about 5 days but DH was able to pop in and out to get more stuff as required.Hope this helps and I hope I haven't forgotten anything. If the rest of you guy can add to this please do.
