29-12-2009 - Food allergy? worriedMy mood while writing this blog:
worried

I'm confused wether my baby is allergic to baby cereal. We started giving my little boy cereal at like 5 months old or a little before and he never had a problem. Well, on the 17th of this month my mom and me gave my son some cereal mixed with his Gerber (like we normally do). A few hours later my son just started throwing up so bad!!! he kept throwing up until he didn't have anything in his system. I took him to the doctors in the morning and doctor said if it's a stomach flu that there was no medicine she could give him for vomiting and to just monitor him. That if he kept throwing up like that to take him to the ER. Thank God it stopped. From that day until yesterday afternoon I hadn't given him any cereal or baby food because I was a little scared. Well yesterday at like 2pm my mom tried feeding him some cereal and again 2hrs later he started vomiting! so i figured it's the cereal that's making him throw up. He threw up again until there was no more food in his lil belly. I started him on Pedialyte and he hasn't thrown up since. I'm starting to think he's allergic to the cereal. My question is, do i try a new flavor of cereal since he had reacted bad to the Rice one and Oatmeal one? and how important is it to even give him cereal? should i just cut it all out and stick to veggies and fruits?
