26-9-2008 - SEVERE STOMACH CRAMPS!!

My mood while writing this blog: pain & hurting bad

OMG- I am in so much pain as Im writing this but need to inform everyone whats going on. Ok so yesterday I was hurting off & on but figured it was the ligaments stretching so I tried to tough it out. As many of you may know I've been having the worst problems for a month now w/ bladder & kidney infections and doc put me on 3 strong sets of antibiotics. In my heart I knew there was more to it b/c my mom just went through it but they didnt think it was what I thought it was. Well this morning about 7 am I started with the severe pains and let me tell you its now 3:45 pm and the pains have not stopped since this morning. Its an on going cramping pain and every little bit it will get really severe like contractions. So I go into see the Dr at 10:00 this morning. They did a ultrasound, and guess what? That baby was just bouncing around and acting like nothing was going on. I didnt get a pic but I did get to see the baby, and OMG the baby gotten so much bigger since 7 wks. Im 9 1/2 wks now. It actually doubled in size.... Well I told them again like last time what I thought it was, and now their finally agreeing with me and thinking the same thing. A kidney stone. They dont know for sure but their pretty positive so the hospital here cant do the scan until late thurs afternoon. A WEEK FROM NOW!! NO WAY! I am HURTING so bad right now that I cant take it any more. They gave me tylenol #3 to take now for the pain. My mom just had one several wks ago and it took her over a month to get well again. They said there was so much infection in her kidneys and it was a size of 5 mm that they did surgery right away. They said you can die from it due to infection in your body. Everything Im feeling is what my mom felt over a month ago. Im sorry but I need to know now if that is what is happening to me. Bad thing is I had one 2 1/2 yrs ago and luckily I passed it with no problem and here it is me maybe having one again. When you go to the E.R. they do the scan right then and let you know. Thats how I found out last time. So with the pain im feeling, I will def be going to the E.R. tonight and then I can find out exactly whats going on with my body. How can they make me wait? When did the scan on my mom, the urologist did immediate surgery the VERY next morning b/c he thought she would die. It went on for a month with my mom as well before she found out just like me! What they told her their telling me. It starts out w/ them saying its a bladder infection, then a week later its kidney infection, then so many weeks later BAM kidney stone. Infact if you read my other blogs you will see when I was having the other problems. Ok so midway through this blog I took a tylenol #3 and now its hitting me. Im feeling funny looking at the screen typing so the pain has subsided for a little (not much) what scares me is my mom was so bad off at the E.R. they were giving her high doses of morphine, and it still hurt. Then they gave her the next drug up (not sure of the name) before it helped.I cant do that! I cant do that to my baby. So I got to get this under control before the pain gets so bad that I have no choice but to just deal with the pain and really have to suffer. They say to drink lots of liquids. There is 5 reasons they say on how you can get a kidney stone. One is dairy (strange I know) and another is acid- cant remember about the other 3. Well Im wondering what could of increased it is here lately I've been craving tomatoes (especially them cherry or grape tomatoes) I can get them by the box. Well I've been eating them ALOT lately. You should see me at pizza hut or a buffet, I fill my plate up and just eat that only... Im just wondering if the acid in the tomatoes are adding to this condition. But needless to say when I leave work I will go and get myself checked. Yes I am at work- Luckily Im an office manager and get to sit at a desk and its helped tremendously!! I only had to miss 3 hrs work today. I left and then came back. But it sure took me longer then usual to get my work done. Thank god its the weekend so I can be in pain in peace. I will keep ya'll updated as I find out.Please keep me in your prayers that if this is a kidney stone that I can pass it with no problem. Love you guys and will talk to you soon

I am so sorry that this is happening to you. Kidney stones can be inherited.. Other causes can be due to dehydration, to much dairy, infection, and change in urine ph. Drink at least 6 liters of water a day will probibly pass the stones. I hope you feel better soon. That kind of pain is so horrible.

i am sorry you are in so nuch pain. it is a shame that the dr did not do the extra step last time to see if it was a stone then to be safe since you are preg and there is not as many options. i will keep you in my prayers.
