My mood while writing this blog: thrilled |
Well we went for our baby scan Dec 3rd 2008- the day after my husbands birthday. Our appt was at 9:30 and it couldnt be soon enough. The nurses said that only 3 other ppl can be in the room. So it was me, my husband, my mother, my husbands mom & his step dad came to the appt. I asked the nurse if my father in law could come in even though there was the 3 ppl already there. The ultrasound tech said that we could bring him in right at the end before the naming of the sex. So we go in there; me, my mom, my husband and his mom and there is our baby on the monitor. His mom is an emotional person so when she saw the baby on the screen she just lost it. This is her first actual grandchild not including my 2 boys from a previous marriage. When she had her children they never had an ultrasound back in the day. So this was her first time to actually see a baby on the monitor that was in someone's belly. She just started sobbing and my husband is trying to consule her while trying to hold my hand seeing our baby. My mom didnt know what to think b/c one she is a very laid back relaxed person and this is her 9th grandchild. So the tech is measuring the baby and everything looked perfect and she weighs 11 oz at exactly 19 weeks. She looked at her spine, and all the body parts and did the blue & red color that shows the blood and arteries. I thought that was so cool b/c they never did the blue & red color last time I had a child which was over 7 yrs ago. She let everyone hear the HB and his mom started crying again and loudly said towards the monitor "Hey baby Im your nana" I thought that was so sweet and it really touched me. So we bring my husbands step dad in and let him the see the baby move a bit. While my husbands getting my father in law I asked the nurse did she think the baby will show its parts so we know what sex it is. She just started smiling and was like I already know what it is. Im like NO WAY- So im thinking my husband needs to hurry his butt up and get in there so I can know already. The suspense was killing me!! Then she said what i've been wanting to hear for the last 19 weeks- YOUR HAVING A GIRL!! I was stunned slightly. I wasnt too shocked b/c I just knew it was a girl. I just felt that i was having a girl b/c everything was so different in this pregnancy. My husbands mom starts hugging him crying and saying congratulations, and start hugging me. My mom was beaming with joy and she reaches in a bag and pulls out these patton leather newborn girl dress shoes. Then moments later she laughed and pulled out a pair of boy newborn dress shoes and said just incase. I told her to give those to someone else b/c i got my girl now, lol. I am so happy to now get my baby girl. Oh by the way I lost another 2 lbs. I've lost a total of 7 lbs now. Im so relieved b/c i see some women that is gaining all this weight at 19 weeks of a total of 15 lbs plus. So it felt good to know that Im still losing to make weight loss for the weight gain thats coming. Its perfectly normal for me to lose weight b/c with my other two children I lost alot of weight b/c i stayed sick (morning sickness) for 7 months straight. My last one I lost 20 lbs and gained 35 lbs. But this pregnancy I havent gotten sick once so I was so afraid that I would be gaining. I feel better knowing that Im keeping it close to the same rate. We do plan on doing the 4D scan at 28 weeks and I cant wait
