30-12-2008 - 23 weeks Dr Appt

Well I went to the dr's today. Started out not as well as I thought. I just knew that I didnt gain any weight yet but then again with the holidays I did splurge eating all the goodies that my mom always makes for the holidays. So I just knew that I was in trouble. I've been doing really well all along and lost a total of 7 lbs through out the pregnancy. Well that all changed today. I gained "4" pounds!! Im like WHOA, Wait a minute!! I'm trying really hard to keep an eye on not gaining too much right now b/c I need to allow weight gain for at the end. So this just really sucks. My Dr actually seemed really satisfied though, b/c Dr said your supp to gain 1/2 lb a week. Im thinking Oh my goodness that is only allowing me 2 lbs a month. Well does that mean 1/2 lb every week in general like for the total of 40 weeks. Umm thats only 20 lbs. In that case the rate Im going Im going to be way off. Maybe she means 1/2 lb a week for now and allow more for later?? ha ha Ok I know im going a crazy about the weight issue. But I was a little thick to start out with and I do not WANT to go overboard with it. Well whats really helping me not gain a lot of weight is the fact that I had gastric bypass surgery 3 1/2 yrs ago. Its not helping the baby much but its def helping with eating habits. I cant eat ANYTHING. Food just makes me sick to eat it. However I have no problem eating junk. Which is actually the only thing I can actually digest. Bad aint it?? So im feeling after the holidays I can keep the weight gain to a minium. Ok back to the appt (the reason for the blog, lol) Heartbeat was 149 and once the Dr started putting the dobbler on my belly BABY GIRL DID NOT LIKE IT!! First the baby moved to a diff spot, and then when the dr put it back on my belly, she kicked at it and you could hear through the dobbler a thump, and made the dobbler jump off. So the dr put the dobbler on my belly once more. Honey my baby girl wasn't having it, and there she went again, thump you can hear and I could feel, and the dobbler went off my belly again. It was so cute that she was being so sassy, My DH thinking she's going to be a fighter and will be able to hold her own with her two older brothers. Im thinking are you serious> How can you tell all that through a kick. It was still cute though. Dr measured my belly and says that Im moving along perfectly and am at the right size. They dont want to change the due date unless its a couple of weeks difference but the last sonogram showed that I should be having her 6 days sooner then what their saying. So we'll just see when she gets here. Well we're def doing the 4D sonogram. We're getting the 2 visit package and its only going to be 250 dollars but you wouldnt believe how many colored & black n white pics that we're getting, plus 30 mins dvd, plus cd rom to take home or walmart and print up my own pics. I get that with both visits. Not to mention its going to be shown in a big room with couches that will fit up to 8 ppl and it can be viewed on a 40 inch screen monitor. IM SO EXCITED> Only thing is Im driving 2 hrs away to a bigger city to get it done b/c my dr charges way too much and I get a whole lot less. It still will work out good in the end b/c my best friend from school lives close by where we're going and I get to see her both times as well. Not to mention she is giving me her baby's crib so I got to go there to pick it up anyways. SO three for one special. I think the first 4D scan will be jan 24th on a saturday and the 2nd visit will be end of feb. Well Dr said starting at 28 weeks I have to start going every 2 weeks till the last month when I will go every week ( fun fun fun) so when I go back jan 27th I will start my 2 week visits b/c I will be 27 weeks at that time.
