Well yesterday was very emotional and sad. My baby lost her umbilical cord. She's no longer a newborn now and I feel like my only connection to her is NOW gone. I hated to see it go. The good news is we went to the health dept to get her started on WIC, we seen she gained some weight. She was 7.8 when she was born. When we left the hosp she was 7.4 and when she went to the dr for a well check up at 3 days old she was still 7.4. She got weighed at the health dept just a week and a half later; she is now weighing 8.6. My little porker gained 1 lb 2 oz's in a little over a week. I knew she would b/c she is eating really really good. She is now eating 3 1/2 to 4 oz's every 2 hours. All she does is sleep and eat, and sleeps while she eats, ha ha! She is now 2 weeks old and I hate to see the time fly by b/c I really want to enjoy this time her being a newborn.

I find myself getting sad at the thougth of them growing so fast too...she sounds healthy,congrats!

Well done JoAnn! Don't they grow so fast. Skye is 3 weeks now and starting to lose that new born look. Let us all know how the boys are dealing with their new sister.

that's great that Joann is doing so well and gaining weight. I can't get my Maggie to gain weight & it's driving me crazy. I'm still in complete awe that I have this beautiful baby girl.
