My mood while writing this blog: sad my baby got stuck |
Well I've been busy busy busy lately, so Im just giving a quick update. JoAnn got her shots yesterday. I felt so bad b/c she just cried & cried & cried & cried. It broke my heart. It took her about 20-30 minutes to stop crying and then after about 10 -15 minutes of not crying, then she started for another 15 minutes. This went on for about 3 hours. She was so mad. At first when the nurse stuck her, she paused for a second and thats when the water works came when she realized what just happened. She got 6 vaccines. One by mouth and the other five was in the three shots. She only got stuck 3 times and everytime the nurse stuck her she would let out another scream even louder. She got weighed and is in the 90% for her weight, "13.12 lbs" and she is in the 75% for her height "23 inches". (7.8 born 7.4 when we left hosp and 20 inches born) So she is a big girl but drinking half the milk she did for the first month but still gaining all this weight. Doc says its b/c she is absorbing it. I would say so! LOL!! He also told me that I should not feed any food (milk only) till she is 6 months old. No cereal, baby food, nothing. I asked and this is what he told me. Now he has me add 1 tablespoon of cereal to her bottle but that is only to thicken her milk for her reflux. He says the proof is in the pudding, lol. B/C looking at her size, she looks like a 6 month old and is only 2 months old. I only feed her milk and no food. Im satisfied with that and thats all i will feed her till then. She is a very very healthy girl. By the way, she has officially found her thumb and there is nothing I can do about it. I constantly take it out and put her pappy in but then she cries and sticks that thumb back in. Its weird that she does that b/c my boys never did that and no one in my family has ever suck their thumb. My husbands brother did and I wonder if its hereditary? Either way I will continue to work on getting that problem fixed b/c I do not want her to be a thumb sucker. You can take the pacifier away but you can't cut off a finger, lol.
