18-7-2009 - gemmas six month shots and reaction

My mood while writing this blog: blah

gemma had her 6 month needle on friday and she kept screaming as if she was in pain and wouldnt settle or eat she also had a temp but nothing high, before she went to bed that night i removed the bandaids and took a look and all was well, early the next morning she woke with the same temp but even higher and was still reallly unsettled and not eating

As i went to change her i came across this lumpy red mark where 1 of the neddles had been i took her to the doctors who were all busy and got told to take her to the hospital, she got checked out and i was told she had a minor reaction to the needle (if this was minor i would hate to see gemma suffring a bad reaction it was horrible ladys i minutse she was really hot then really cold she wouldnt settle and there was little i could do it broke my heart) in the end i was told to just keep up the pain meds and bring her back if she got worse, today she is ALOT better but i will be seeing her doctor tommorow to make sure that he marks this down in gemmas files

she was fine with her newborn, 2month and 4 month shots its just been this 1 that she had the reaction to, i am now even more nervous about upcoming shots, im just glad she dosnt have another till shes 1
