30-7-2009 - Scan on monday

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is doing ok. So I have my 20 week scan on monday!!

I'm pretty nervous, I don't want to have got this far and find out something is wrong with the baby. The worst thing is I have to wait til 3.20pm - what the hell am I gonna do all day? lol

I am getting quite a bit of movement now and the kicks are getting stronger :-) I woke up to pee last night at 4am and when I got back to bed the baby started doing gymnastics lol. They were the strongest movements yet and it was pretty cool although I have to admit it did feel a bit odd!!

Sadly I still don't have a proper baby bump :-( I check every morning to see if it has appeared overnight, lol. It is starting to look a little bit like a bump but it hasn't popped out yet. Just looks like my non pregnant, non skinny belly has been pushed out a bit. Guess my stomach muscles are stronger than I thought!!

Good luck Jayne for Monday. It all sounds positive however, what with the kicking and all. I get you on the afternoon scan, what are you going to do all day??? When my scan was at 10.00am, I was up at 5.00am!! Couldn't sleep at all. Poor you having to wait til the afternoon. I'll wish the day away for you, and hope it passes very quickly. I really appreciate your help with the detachment with this baby, makes me feel like I am behaving normally, and not being an awful person. Every time a scan comes up, the anxiety begins to build, and the negative thoughts come back. People keep talking to me about being pregnant, and about buying things for the baby, and I want to scream, stop it! It's too early! But I sit there smiling........ don't want to be too rude. Have a lovely time on Monday, and pop your pics on when you get home so I can see what a 20 week scan looks like. I can't wait! xx

The scan will go perfectly!!!! try to look forward to it, it is the best scan by far. You get to see so much detail, it is really amazing. OMG, I cannot believe you are 20 weeks already, it is FLYING by.

I had a belly pretty early, but it really popped at 24 weeks. Maybe yours will too. Its cool that you have good tummy muscles!! lol x x

That is so nice! You could find out the sex of baby oliver? Don't be scared everything will be just fine your baby will be healthy and perfect. keep me posted please. can't wait until monday yay!
