| 08-9-2009 - D&C number 4!! | My mood while writing this blog:Tired |
Hi everyone,
Well as the title says I have just had another d&c!!
I had been having irregular bleeding for a couple of weeks so I went to the doctor on Thursday and she opened up the report from the hospital where I delivered Finley and it said that they couldn't confirm the placenta had come away intact. I was pretty mad! Should they not have told me this earlier?? So anyway I was sent for an ultrasound and they saw that there was indeed placenta left in my uterus and she measured it at over 5cm. I then had to go back to the doctors and she wrote me a letter and sent me to A&E at the hospital that I had Finley. They admitted me that night. I had the surgery on the Saturday morning, the consultant who came to see me before they operated said they would do it under ultrasound guidance so they could see what they were doing. I had been given IV antibiotics on the Friday night and Saturday morning to try and avoid infection. My blood pressure was quite low afterwards so I ended up having 2 drips to hydrate me. I started asking them later on in the afternoon when I could go home but they said I could only go home if someone was there with me and as Mark had to work a night shift he couldn't get out of and I felt so crap I figured I had better stay. About an hour later another doctor came to see me and said they wouldn't have let me go home anyway as they hadn't managed to get everything out during the surgery so I had to stay to keep an eye on the bleeding. This worried me cos I had hardly bled since I got back to the ward. They were worried I would bleed too much and I wasn't bleeding at all!!!
The next morning another doctor came to see me, she was the one that actually did the op and she said that she thought they had got everything out (????) but there was something showing up on the u/s - some sort of line.. I have no idea what this is and she didn't seem to either. If I hadn't of still been so woozy I would probably have taken more in and asked more questions. So they finally let me go just before lunch on sunday - I was so glad to get home.
Yesterday wasn't a good day, I was so tired I could hardly move but I'm feeling a bit better today. I am having some light bleeding so hopefully it is what ever was left over from the surgery. I took a sensitive HPT today and it is negative for the first time so I am assuming that means any pregnancy related stuff is gone.
The u/s tech did see a ripe follicle on the scan so I have a little egg waiting to be released :-) So there is some good news!!
Love to you all
Jayne xx
