11-12-2009 - Scan dates and due dates

My mood while writing this blog:

Sunday is Finley's due date...

I have been dreading this for a while - well since I gave birth to him I suppose. When I was pregnant with him I really thought that as I had got to the 20 week u/s that everything would be ok and I would be bringing this baby home... How wrong was I!!

Sadly my OH is on nights over the weekend so I will be on my own on Sunday but my Mum is gonna call. My best friend is also calling and I have decided I will tell her I am pregnant again. We aren't going to tell many people until we (hopefully) get the all clear from the heart scan.

I had another u/s yesterday and baby is now 2cm big (!!). Everything looks ok so far but it's early days. We have the 12 week u/s on the 4th January and they also booked us in for the first heart scan. This will be at Guys and St Thomas hospital in London on 27th January. I'm hoping everything will be ok as this is also mine and BF's anniversary...

This will be the first of possibly 3 heart scans, I guess depending on what they find. At the first one I will be 15 weeks so they might not be able to say what is going on for sure yet. We should get another around 20-22 weeks and as they will be able to see the heart better then I am hoping all will be well..

I think we have decided that if everything goes ok this time that we won't be trying for another in the future. I'm not sure I could handle it. The last couple of years have been so stressful, we were so upset when we miscarried our first baby and then to lose Finley the way we did.. Don't think I could cope with that again. If anything does go wrong with this baby then I guess we will keep trying but I have everything crossed it will be ok. Also I am 35 so we would have to fit in another baby fairly quickly and I'm not sure I would want to go through pregnancy while having to look after a young child. I'm struggling to keep up with my dog as it is, lol.

*big hug for yesterday*. I hope that everything will just go picture perfect this time round. Had a good giggle at you not being able to keep up with the dog. I know the feeling LOL. Jayne, I'll be thinking about you, as usual, on Sunday. Try to keep yourself busy, whilst allowing yourself to think about Finley.
