03-4-2008 - Hot Throat- 3 April 08

Man, I really didn't expect to get heartburn. And so early on- not even in third trimester, and nothing pushing up that tight against me! I picked the emoticon smiley which looks most like he's suffering from a heartburn attack. I get them at strange times and any food can bring one on. Cereal and milk seems to have done it this morning. I also start getting chronic-hot-throat around 6pm. I've tried yogurt. Been sleeping sitting up. Nothing is seeming to help. Tums and Gas-X are non-effective. Will try Mylanta soon. But right now the pain is managable, and I hate that thick milky looking mint syrup!!! Everything else GI seems just fine, though. I hate to sound like my dad (not really; but he is incessantly optimistic), but it's kind of neat to have a preg-symptom during the honeymoon. As if all the thumping in my tum wasn't clue enough...
Beavis McSpaz doesn't seem to mind the heartburn. He was en fuego yesterday! Must've been practicing more dance moves. I swear, this guy is going to be the next Justin Timberlake the way he moves! I got my haircut and eyebrows waxed last night as they were both very overdue. While I was lying on the table getting the brows done, there's a peanut doing a jig in my tummy! Kept making me giggle; the stylist was "in" on the whole thing (as if I could hide my stomach NOW- read earlier posts about these runner's abs... and their recent mutiny!)- she thought it was hilarious.
I sent Shawn a text pic of my growing tummy. I think he was surprised. He's been gone 10 days and we've really blossomed since then. Said he thought it was pretty cute. CUTE?? Whatev. He comes home from NY on Friday. Can't wait to get into my non-pregnant little black dress and fill it out in a whole new way. If I remember, I'll try to take a pic.
Well, I'm off for my morning bagel (yeah, giving up bagels didn't stick). But at least I'm sub-ing the cream chease for Neufchatel... at least until I can start running again, then bring on the cream!!!!
