26-11-2008 - favorite things

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

After giving birth, I discovered some of my favorite things that I'm so glad we have. Here's the list:

receiving blankets (the small ones, perfect for bundling little ones)

bibs (cannot have enough of these, breast or formula feeding)

baby book (to record everything)

crib mobile (enamored with it since day 5, keeps her entertained)

peri bottle (for squirting warm water on my vagina after giving birth, cleans the yucky blood off and feels nice)

peri oil (for baby's butt, to make wiping meconium off easier, vaseline does the same thing)

preemie diapers (if you have a baby smaller than 8 pounds)

newborn/preemie clothes (if you have a baby smaller than 8 pounds)

printed pictures of baby in a small photo album (take everywhere to show everyone baby's progress)

nursing pillow (relieves the arms)

changing table (stores all diapering and bath items, baby knows that's the feel-good place and is happy there, don't have to put a pad down or search for a pad to put down before diapering because it's always there in case she pees before I can stick a clean diaper on her)

diaper champ (easy to use, holds those dirty diapers!)

wet diaper bag (holds dirty diapers when we are out instead of searching for a garbage can, contains the odor)

cheap wash clothes ($3/20 at Wal-Mart, to wipe baby's bottom, to bathe baby, to save money on baby wipes)

diaper bag (of course, to carry diapers and other essentials in when I'm out and about)

THINGS I WISH WE HAD:

cradle (My baby likes motion, and when we put her down once she's asleep, she wakes up easily. A cradle would solve this.)
