Okay. Often when I am out, I have people tell me what a good baby Ada is. I love Ada and think the world of her, but I don't think of her in terms of good baby or bad baby. I just think she's a baby. I'm annoyed when people label my child, especially good or bad. What constitutes a "bad" baby? Can a 9 month old be a bad baby? Is there such a thing? I only know of tired or overstimulated babies or hungry babies who cry because they need something. I know bad parents who don't give their babies naps and provoke meltdowns, but bad babies. . .I don't know of any of those. Is a bad baby one who cries in public? Is that what the definition of a bad baby is? Are there such things as bad babies? Does anybody here have a bad baby?

No, there is no such thing as a bad baby. Those 2 words don't even mix. I agree with you 100% Babies don't even know what bad is. They know what hungry, gassy, sick, tired, wet and poopy are. It's sad to me that people say they have or had a bad baby because of collick or some other reason beyond a baby's controll. People are such morons sometimes! I hope Ada is well, I'm getting ready to post a video of her eating her bday cake and some big 1st b-day pictures so look for em! xoxo

I agree with you. There's no such thing as good and bad babies. That being said, I do have a very naughty niece who's about to turn 4 years old in September. She has tantrums, picks fights with her 2 year old brother, defies her parents and acts out in public to get attention. I've never been around a a kid who acts this way. It definitely had me scared about getting pregnant. Initially, I was nervous that this would indicate that I would have a baby like this or be an inattentive/inconsistent parent myself. So, I'm trying to prepare my home and lifestyle to be a parent first before letting anything else take priority.
I don't think it's a surprise you have a sweet baby. You provide the stable and loving environment that gets all of Ada's needs met. You are doing a great job!

people often tell me this too about Forest. he never cries, he sleep all night and sleeps well, he has always been a good eater, never had any reflux, is always content...i think those are 'good' things, not that my child is BETTER than any other, but i think they just mean he is good mannered and happy, you know, kind of easier to take care of compared to a baby who cries a lot and is moody, doesnt eat well or maybe has allergies to foods, wants to be held all the time and cries if you dont,etc. those things dont make your baby 'bad', but you wouldnt WANT them to have those. i dont think anyone is trying to be offensive
