My mood while writing this blog: worried. |
OMG!!!!!!!!! My husband has BCBS and it's an 80/20 plan which is not good.. I have a $1000 deductable I must meet first and I need to pay $315.00 every month until March to pay for the deposit. I've been looking over the cost of the devlivery and I even called the hospital. My out of pocket costs will be around $1000 to >$2000 for the %20 of the hospital/ delivery fee for just a regular vag delivery. I will have to save for that too just incase they give me the bill before discharge. Even more expensive if I use an anesthesiologist... So I could save quite a bit of money if I push through the severe pain .. and just have it without any anesthesia services. I use to have Medicaid 6 yrs ago and now we make too much, but not enough to have a baby with pain relief it seems. That really pisses me off! (no epidural). I've never done that before but I'm hoping I can this time so that I will have some money saved for maternity leave and baby needs. I am soo worried about finances. My baby looks very healthy on the sono. So Now I'm done worrying about him, I found something else to worry about. ..UGH! money. :-(

Tuesday, 18 Nov Isn't there an out of pocket maximum on your insurance plan? Just remember that Blue cross didn't make the plan that you are on. t he employer that it is through chose the benefits. If enough people don't like the benefits and talk to HR they can change them, although the premium may be higher. I, myself would rather pay a little higher premuim and know I have the coverage I need. NicoleM -
Monday, 17 Nov WHOA!! I also have bcbs 80 20 but my deductable is only half of yours...500! I had to pay the dr.s office like 380 or something, plus still haven't received a hospital bill, I had a vaginal delivery with no pain meds so I won't have additional charges for pain! But if I give them $10 a month they will be happy! I totally understand the stress of finances, I have been off 3 weeks with no income and the bills are piling up! I recieved a phone call today I have a check for over $900 in the mail! THANK GOD! Won't take long and it will be gone! I am in the same financial bind...I think there are alot of ppl in our boat, let's just hope like hell our boat don't sink!!! lol Try to keep the stress down for that baby (I know soooo much easier said than done) ~Tarin~ -
Monday, 17 Nov I think we all stress about finances even if we have good medical insurance or not. In Canada, that is all covered for us by the government, but wages don't seem to be as high as yours. I recently just got extended medical and dental, but if I hadn't I would be screwed because I want a private room. My husband worry more about expenses and having to save to by things needed before hand because this is our first and we don't expect any help from our families. luckywhite -
