My mood while writing this blog: worried |
I was so happy about all of the positive aspects of my Dr's appt Friday I didn't really think about the physical pain until I got home and my gears really got to going. Ok. So first the Nurse Practitioner listened to the baby's HR with the doppler and what I noticed was there was a dull pain when she pressed down on my lower abdomen and she actually found the Heartbeat. She said I may be having growing pains from my uterus growing. Then after she was done with all that she did a pap smear b/c i was way over due for one. The test was very painful and I spotted that day and all day yesterday. The practitioner knows about it and is going to check me out for more than just the pap smear. She said that it is not uncommon but it has never happened to me before. I'm not spotting anymore but I am sore in there today 3 days later. I am very worried that something is wrong b/c pain is not normal. I will findout hopefully next week or Dec1st at my next appt. I had so much pain during the papsmear that I remember backing up on the table real fast and having to move down twice for her. It was really very painful. Has anyone else ever had this experience before? I told the Dr. I must just be getting old and that is why it hurts, she didn't do anything wrong although it felt like she was piercing my cervix with a little knife. I saw the tools and they where long Q tips and a plastic or rubber tipped thing that was blue with a white tip that had little white rubber or plastic pointy things and it came to a point in the center. The speculum didn't hurt just the white spiky thing. I just want to know if anyone else has had that much pain at a pap smear before and if they spotted and what your results where b/c right now I have a lot of things going through my head. You can messge me privately if you want. I'm worried and sometimes hearing other peoples stories helps.

Friday, 28 Nov Well, wednesday the 26th the Dr.'s office called to tell me the pap smear came back normal. I was so relieved. Christine G -
Sunday, 23 Nov I had my pap smear done this past week. It was VERY painful!!! I had my doctor's resident do it and let's just say that I've never minded pap tests until that time! He scared the shit out of me when he asked if I usually bled during pap tests but then he said that it was normal. I spotted that day, yes I did have cramps that day too. Everything is much more sensitive in there right now, this is what my mother and sister (nurses) told me. My cramps feel like my uterus is growing and have that bloated feeling all the time. I hope that you feel better soon! :) Take care! skatrose -
Sunday, 23 Nov Hey sorry it was so painful! Another thing to remember is that during pregnancy your cervix is extra sensitive. There's a lot of extra blood flow everywhere and especially down in your nether regions and cervix. That is probably why you started spotting. It's extra sensitive as well. Tt could be something else too, but I'm sure it's just because you are pregnant. Hopefully the docs will let you know what's going on. Good luck greenmommy -
Sunday, 23 Nov honestly, I would rather have a vaginal infection than for it to naturally be this painful b/c if that little probe caused that much pain I don't even want to think about pushing a 7lb baby through that cervix! I hope they have results from my tests this week.
