My little lady is a week old today! i'm just now sitting down to blog about her birth. She was born feb. 13th and it was the best day of my life! I went for my normal ob appt fri the 12th where I had an nst done, they noticed that i was having regular contractions, but they didnt really hurt. Also my blood pressure had gone up drastically, so they sent me to L & D. the doctor there decided it'd be best since my blood pressure was so high to induce me, thankfully since i was already contracting they were able to give me a very small dose of pitocin to help speed things along. They started it at 8:30pm friday night, got my epi a few hours later and at 3:30 in the morning my water broke on it's own. at 6am i was 6 cm, an hour later i felt a lot of pressure and they checked and i was 9cm. i was waiting for my mom to get there so i held off on pushing. Around 8:10 am I started to push and 8:37am she was born at exactly 37 weeks! the delivery was the easiest part! haha she is a very content, happy baby and I am smitten. After delievery my blood pressure never went down, and i started to lose some of my vision. They started me on manisium which is the worst thing ever! they had me on that for 24 hours and then the next day we were able to come home. Life has been so amazing with her here and me and my husband just stare at her thinking how did we get so lucky! after 10 weeks of bed rest and fighting off pre term labor i am so thankful to have her.

Awe! Congratulations. I remember when my first was born. It IS such a magical time of falling in love with them. Enjoy every little minute of it! They really do grow up so fast.
