My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
Hi Ladies! I hope you and your families are all doing well!
Just curious as to how many of you are teaching your babies sign language?
I just got Harley a few books on how to sign a week ago and got a video tonight.
I'm already finding the video is a little easier just because you can watch the signs and how you do them instead of reading how to do them and hoping your doing them right :)
Were just now starting the basics and I'm so excited!!!
We also started teaching all three of the girls Spanish about a month ago! I'm learning myself as well!
Anyways, if you are teaching your baby sign language how fast are they catching on?
Which words do they know how to sign?
How old were they when you started teaching them sign language?
Do they use sign language on a regular babis with you?
Thanks for all the feedback!
I'm really excited to teach the girls and Har the basics and start learning myself as well!
Take Care

Sunday, 18 Oct Hi ... I haven't with Jaslene but my brother did with his first and they loved it.. he could sign so much faster than talk.. so they were able to know what it was that he needed... milk .. please.. more.. etc... hes 2 1/2 and still signs a little.. they have a newborn and plan to sign with him too. Jaslene is going to learn Spanish.. fathers side is from Mexico so they all speak it.. I DONT.. I NEED TO LEARN! :) I wonder if learning Spanish and English and signing would be a little much.. I've heard when they learn 2 languages at a time they are a little behind.. oh well we'll figure it out.. let me know how it goes with miss Harley! samlib -

Saturday, 17 Oct my brother is deaf so I have been teaching my son sign language since he was very little... Its so much easier to communicate and understand him.... he's 15 mths old and knows alot of sign
BTW: I give my son 1 word a day to learn and by the end of the day he has already picked it up. We still practice the other words he's learned but we start off with 1 new word a day.... claire louise -

Saturday, 17 Oct Hey, I started Payton learning sign when she was very young, we just used the baby Einstein video, she caught on fast and it helped so much she never really cried to much because she was always able to communicate with us. I think that those videos really have helped with her development. she is 18 months old now just accepted & started Montessori school early this week. She knows way over 100 words, over half the alphabet, & she can count to 13 on her own, plus she still signs..... if you can get different baby einstein videos, the great thing is on a lot of the videos you have the option of having the video in spanish, it will help with teaching all of your girls :) As for the words that we really used with signing is.... milk, more, momma, dada, cereal, help, stop, go, sleep & for some reason she loves the sign for butterfly lol so she does that one a lot ..... I think it is great that you are teaching them sign & spanish.... best of luck :) keida::and::kora-mae -
