22-6-2009 - What's going on with Harley??? HmmmmmMy mood while writing this blog:
Hmmmmm

Hi Ladies :)

I can't figure out with is going on with little Miss Harley!?

This weekend Heath, Har and I went out shopping, grabbed lunch, just hung out as a family and had a great time! Every time we go places people approach her in her stroller and try to talk to her. Before they even get close she starts FREAKING out! I mean FREAKING out! She screams at the top of her lungs and gets beat red in the face. I have to pull her out of her stroller to comfort and hold her for at least five minutes after this happens.
This has been going on for about a month now! This happens EVERY time we go places and run into NEW people.
What's going on with her?? Is she scared of new people, spoiled, seperation anxiety, or shy???
Neither of my older girls ever did this!
Hmmm

Thank Ladies for all your help!

Shayla's like that with strangers too but usually if someone holds her that she doesn't know.....and is definitely getting separation anxiety!

aww poor har!! I think maybe its the seperation or strnager anxiety. I was afraid Mara would get that since we really aren't around alot of people all the time, but she, knock wood, hasn't. I think at Har's "age" is when it starts to happen, think i remember reading that in a baby book.
poor baby!!
hope she gets over it quickly for u!

Oh poor Harley! It must be stranger anxiety, my second daughter went through a stage where she was petrified of people she didn't know. Hopefully it doesn't last too long for Har:)

I would say its seperation anxiety. Rylee does that sometimes too. =)

It sounds like seperation anxiety to me. King went through this from around 6-11 months. He would scream if someone he didn't see on a daily basis entered our house or if a stranger would even walk too close to his stroller out in public. It got to be really tough to take him anywhere becuse he was upset all the time. I asked his ped about it at his 6 month checkup and he said it is very normal for babies to cling to ther parents around this age and that they will eventually develop the social skills to deal with public situations. So I think you just have to ride it out and wait for it to pass, that's what we had to do. Now he is super friendly again and will go to anybody (that makes me kinda nervous too).
