| 26-4-2009 - 28 week appointment | My mood while writing this blog:Relieved |
Hey ladies, had my 28 week hospital appointment on Friday. Had another scan of the baby and was happy to see she's growing properly and is dead on target size for her age! Yay! Got another appointment for when I'm 32 weeks to make sure all is still well.
When I was at hospital the other week I was told I had Strep B and have been worrying since then thinking that the baby will need antibiotics as soon as she's born, but I spoke to the consultant while I was at the hospital and he said as long as I get the right dose of antibiotics whilst I'm in labour it should be fine and, apart from needing to be observed for 24 hours after delivery, they wont have to do anything to Emma. So that's a huge weight off my mind...I remember when my little sister was born to my mum (who was also diagnosed with Strep B while she was pregnant) she was whisked away as soon as she was born while they tried to force drips into her little hands, wrists, feet and ankles and when they couldn't get a drip into any of those parts of her body they tried to stick one in her head. :-/ I don't think I could watch them do that to my baby...she's not been born yet but I'm already so damn protective of her! lol.
Hope you're all well and having a nice day? xxx
