| 15-5-2009 - Third scare this pregancy...another hospital visit! Grrr! | My mood while writing this blog:Alright |
So, I ended up at the hospital AGAIN on Wednesday...much to my annoyance! lol.
I'd been having really painful (and regular) Braxton Hicks contractions since last Friday night...but they only seemed to come on in the evening, starting at around 3pm and steadilly getting worse 'till about 9pm when they'd reach a peak and I'd be in unbearable pain with contractions coming every 10 minutes or so then they'd slowly die down and be gone completely by about 2-3am.
I'd decided not to go to the hospital because they died down when I'd had a sleep...on Monday night they were at an all time worse and I really thpought I might be going into premature labour...but again, by the early hours of the morning they'd worn off so we decided not to go to the hospital, but I did give them a quick ring on Tuesday to make sure everything was fine...they told me it was probably just the baby moving down into my pelvis and nothing to worry about.
Anyway, on Wednesday I went swimming in the morning and was in pain (but not as much as I had been before) pretty much all day after that so I called the midwife at the hospital to ask if I was allowed to apply heat to the area to get rid of the pain. (I know I'm not suppose to use hot water bottles or heat pads in early pregnancy but I'm not sure whether or not they're safe this late on.) She insisted that if I was in enough pain to want to use a heat pad I should go to the hospital, which annoyed me because I had things to do and had called the day before and been told everything was fine...so I went down to the hospital and was strapped up to one of those tracing maching things...Emma had hiccups which made me laugh, watching the things strapped to my belly jump about and listening to the noise it made on the moniter!
Anyway, everything was fine, except that she said I was "measuring small" which has really worried me because up till now I've been measuring big for how far along I am...I have another scan next Friday and really can't wait...I'm so worried about the baby now she's said that! Really wish I hadn't of called the hospital now because I think I'd be better off not knowing that I'm "small" till next Friday when I have the scan!
Has anybody else been told they're measuring small and turned out to have a normal, healthy baby?
Thanks for reading, hope you're all having a good day! xxx
