My mood while writing this blog: sore but good |
Well, my son is now 7 1/2 months. I can't believe it! Time really does fly by. He sits by himself, rolls both ways, scoots around (not quite a crawl), eats ALL the stage 2 foods, and still ISN'T sleeping through the night. He is absolutely perfect (well, except the whole sleeping through the night thing.)
Everyone keeps telling me to try the "Ferber Method" to get him to sleep through the night, but I don't have the heart! It is basically letting him cry it out while periodically stopping in to pat him. I just can't do it. He gets more and more worked up and I just end up picking him up anyway!
Eating is another adventure. He is eating ALL of the stage 2 foods, but he struggles with solids. I bought the Gerber puffs...he gaged. The Gerber doodles..he gaged. Biter Biscuits...did good until pieces broke off, then he gaged. I am so TERRIFIED of him choking that I still haven't tried egg, toast, or crackers. He does LOVE Baby MumMums (but I wicked break them up) and YoBaby Yogurt.
Any other moms struggling with the eating and sleeping thing???
He keeps me totally entertained. His laugh is infectious. I love getting on the floor and playing with him. He is a little runner in his walker type toy. I am completely, madly in love with him!!! <3
Oh, my only other comment is....does anyone else miss the cuddly little babies we used to have that have now turned into independent little players?

Thursday, 16 Oct Hey girl, Its great to hear from you again and Im gald you finnly posted an update!! Brian is getting so big, he is adorable. I had my gallbladder out laproscopically when Emma was 13 weeks old, I was so sick from the day she was 3 days old until that day they took it out. Thank God!! Its so much better now. I do still get nauseus occasionally if I eat a really fatty meal but nothing like it was. Im sorry Brian is not sleeping through the night yet. Emma has some bad nights especially now with her teething but its funny, the earlier we put her down at night, the later she sleeps in the morning. Lastnight my husband put her to bed at 8pm and she didnt get up this morning until 7:30 but if she goes down at night at 9 shes up at 5 or 6 so its weird. She sleeps in her crib alone, I have yet to bring her in my room, Im not starting a bad habit. Emma also eats all of the stage 2 fruits and veggis but she will not eat solids either, the biter biscits she wont eat, she doesnt really put things in her mouth yet so the biscuit is like not an interest, I havent tried the puffy things though. My pediatrician said to put plain cherios in front of her but she doesnt pick them up, she knocks them off her tray so I gave up. I hope to talk to you soon Heather, take care and give Brian kisses from us!! jamie1stTime -
Wednesday, 15 Oct Oh my... I hate that your son isn't sleeping well but it's good to know mine isn't the only one! Brady goes to bed around 8:00 and wakes up at 4-5am! I don't mind getting up early with him but he wakes up about 2 or 3 times a night. I, like you, can't let him cry. Really it doesn't work for him he just cries harder and works himself up really bad. I would give almost anything for hm to sleep through the night. He also hates nap time and I know he doesn't get enough sleep but I don't know what to do!
About eating... He is eating his stage 2 solids but the only finger food I am giving him are the puffs. He gaged at first with them and I thought he was choking but they were getting stuck on the roof of his mouth and he couldn't get them to move causing him to gag. He eats them well now but I'm not sure what else to give him. (oh I tried banana but he hated it). What are MumMums? noahsmommy0303 -
Wednesday, 15 Oct My son is the exact same way and I am scared to death to feed him those puffs ever again. If I give him the smallest pieces he is ok, but usually he gags and it freaks me out so much, I am scared he is going to choke. He gags on everything that isn't smooth and I am scared to try anything for fear he will choke. However, I guess I am lucky, my little guy sleeps from 8:30/9 pm to 6/7:30 am all the way through. Hopefully yours will be doing that very soon! danamommy08 -
Wednesday, 15 Oct Wow our babies could be the same person! Lol. My son will be 8 months on the 19th and for the past 3 weeks he is absolutely refusing to sleep in his own crib, he wants to sleep with me, ON me and he only sleeps for like 6 hrs a night. Its really frustrating. Eating, I bought those gerber graduate puffs and he gagged on them so I made my boyfriend put them up where even I can't reach them, lol. He does eat baby food, stage 2, but those dinners he hates!! I don't blame him, they look and smell terrible! Lol. Where do you get the MumMums? I cannot find them anywhere!
Oh, and your son is gorgeous!!
