16-10-2008 - Gallbladder Removal AcheyMy mood while writing this blog:
Achey

Well, as many of you may know, I suffered terribly through my whole pregnancy with throwing up. I would get this terrible pain in my upper chest and throw up. I always assumed it was because of the pregnancy. Turn out, at about 30 or so weeks, they found out it was my gallbladder. After my son, I was so scared of surgery that I tried to control it for 7 months with diet. I finally gave up the fight and had the surgery to get it removed on Friday.

Even though it is nice to not be throwing up. I am having a terrible time. They put me on hydrocodon which made me violently ill for two days. Then I switched to regular old Tylenol....bring on the pain. (Clearly why they PRESCRIBE drugs after a surgery.) After a couple days wrought with pain, I was feeling much betterand decided to return to work yesterday. Apparently I overdid it. I am in terrible pain again. Although, once I heal, I know I will be better off. Everyone please pray that my recovery will be quick.

Thanks for your support.

Hi! I found your profile on the Gallbladder forum. I am currently pregnant and found out I need to have my gallbladder removed. I was wondering if you could please tell me a little bit about your surgery and how it went. Thank you so much!! Suzanne

I had my gall bladder out in May and struggled through my pregnancy as well. Glad to hear you are doing better. I ended up with complications from my surgery and had to go back in the hospital for 5 days after its removal. Blah! Glad that's over.
