28-10-2008 - Roseola AND Flu shot question tiredMy mood while writing this blog:
tired

Well, my son had a really bad fever for two days and then broke out in this rash all over his body. Like the panic-ey mother that I am, I brought him right to the pediatrician. She diagnosed him with roseola. The good news is, they are only contagious the first two days that they run the fever. Once the rash shows up, they are no longer contagious. I just felt so bad because he was feeling so terrible for those few days.

I guess Roseola is pretty common in kids under 2 and just about every kid gets it, so I just wanted to shoot a little blog about it to all of those mom's who's child might or has gotten it. Don't panic....they will be perfectly fine.

Okay, anyone want to respond to this....are you giving your son/daughter the flu shot...my pediatrician highly recommends it, but I feel so bad putting anything in their little bodies. :( What do you think??

I am not a huge Flu vaccine advocate only because the flu vaccine is just 1 particular strain of flu and actual "flu" that you can get could be a different strain all together and you get sick regaurdless. Every Pediatrician will recommend the shot but its your choice as a mom. I am not having Emma vaccinated for the flu.
