| 21-1-2009 - 32 Week Appt/L&D Tour | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
Well I had my 32 week appointment yesterday and it went very well. I gained 2 more pounds which brings me to a grand total of a 7 lb weight gain and 17 lb weight loss, so I guess I'm still at 10 pound weight loss. I had a rough first 12 weeks with morning sickness so I lost a lot of weight! Anyway from what they could tell he was head down, so I was happy about that. Thats pretty much the extent of that appointment. I go back in 2 weeks...woohoo!
My classes have been going really well and I have learned SO much. I am to the point where I'm not really nervous anymore about the whole labor thing, because I know what to expect. Knowledge is so empowering! I have one childbirth class left next Monday and then we are finished with classes. Tonight we have a Baby Basics class I signed up for to teach us how to take care of the baby, because my husband and I have not been around a lot of babies, so we are basically clueless! The highlight of my childbirth class was that she took us over to Labor & Delivery at the hospital to go on a tour. She showed us one of the labor rooms and I swear that room was more relaxing than our house. She showed us how all the labor rooms have a relaxing view of the mall across the street lol. Then she asked if anyone had any questions and DH asked if Pizza Hut delivered to the labor room. She said technically yes, however she wouldn't recommend it since I can't eat anything when I'm in labor and he should save the ordering pizza for the postpartum room. Also she advised him that he might have some other angry women in labor coming after him! He cracks me up! I swear the whole labor area was SO quiet, even though there were 2 women in rooms there that were in labor. I hope its that way when I go in! Then she showed us the nursery where they will take the baby for his first bath and then the postpartum room. She explained that they recommend highly that the baby spends most of the time in our room and very little time in the nursery or anything, which is good because thats what I would prefer anyway. My husband thinks everytime the baby has a dirty diaper he is going to take him to the nursery so the nurses can change it. I am afraid he is going to get into so much mischief when we get there! He is like my first child! lol Oh and they showed us where the snack area was which was what DH was the most interested in go figure! lol I think it will all be a good experience and it was nice to see everything so I know what to expect going in. When we were driving home DH brought up how real it all seems now that we went on that tour and I agree it all seems so real now, but I think it makes me more excited than nervous.
My next task is to pack my hospital bag which I am so excited to start doing! I am putting it off till sometime in February though because that is going to be a dull month for me with not much to do!
