20-2-2009 - The latest... SleepyMy mood while writing this blog:
Sleepy

Ugh well I haven't written one of these in awhile, so I thought I probably should. First of all, I would like to say that my MIL pisses me off more than anyone I have ever met. I do not understand how my wonderful husband came from that household! For months now she has been saying that she wanted to buy something for the baby and was upset when she heard we had already bought the crib and changing table and stuff because she wanted to buy a big item for him. So we told her she could buy the travel system if she wanted to. We have had the one we wanted picked out for months now and expected her to buy it for us for Christmas or something since it was a sizable purchase and we didn't need anything else for Christmas, but no she chose not to. So anyway after saying she was going to come down in January to get it and didn't, she finally came down like a week ago. (So we have had this thing on our registry for forever and told her she could go and look at it or whatever and told her the price at least once or twice, but since she waited so frickin long it went up 10 dollars in price) Anyway, we get to the store and I make a B line to the bathroom, because I just foresaw there being problems knowing how she is. So I dilly dally around in the bathroom waiting for awhile and finally walk over and find her arguing with DH about the stupid thing. She is telling him she doesn't see why she needs to pay so much for it and all this crap and how if she gets that then that is all we are ever getting from her! Um hello you were the one that wanted to buy it! We have the money for it, but she insisted on wanting to buy it and I hated to tell her the crib and changing table were more expensive! So I just stood there silent and DH was like "thats fine" and picked it up and put it in the cart. So then she went off somewhere else with my SIL while we got some other things we needed and DH was obviously kinda upset about how she was reacting and was being kind of short with me. So after being pissed off at his mom and him acting like that, I had a breakdown in the store. I was crying my eyes out and he felt really bad and was trying to comfort me and I was begging him to just buy the darn travel system. Well then the b&#*h walked back up and I was looking at the shelves to try to hide the fact that I was crying. Gosh that woman pisses me off beyond belief! Anyway we came back to our house and DH was showing her the nursery and she remarked at how many clothes the baby had already for us not having a shower or anything and he told her my mom bought a majority of them and she was like "wow she bought alot". I'm thinking yeah and you are making a huge deal over the travel system! Ugh! And this woman wants to come and stay for a few days after my parents leave once the baby is born. There is no way! She would turn up missing since DH is only taking a week off so that means I would have to entertain her! No frickin way! She lives like 2 hours away from us and my SIL goes to college down here so she comes this way all the time to bring her to college, so she can stop in and see him whenever. My parents live in Florida so they can stay as long as they would like, but she does not need to come stay! So I just had to vent about how much that woman pisses me off, but we have the travel system now at least.

On a good note...with part of our tax refund we got a new bed! First of all, I must tell you about how old our other bed was. I don't even know how old but DH has had it for quite awhile and it was used when he got it and it was a Full size bed, so basically the thing was horrible! It creaked like crazy and everytime DH would turn over or something it would about throw me out of bed, so needless to say being pregnant and sleeping on that darn thing was not a good combo! So our first big purchase as a married couple besides our house was a new bed and I am seriously in love with this bed! First of all we got a queen which is great in itself, but the mattress is like sleeping on a cloud. Its the perfect mix of firm and soft and it has the motion separation technology so we don't feel each other move as much. I could seriously write a book about how much I love this bed and how great of sleep I have been getting since we got it a week ago. I just keep thinking if I am sleeping this great on it while I'm pregnant, I cannot wait to sleep on it when I'm not pregnant!

Update on the baby...Well at my 35 week appt she said I was still measuring a little big. I guess not as extreme as before, so she didn't seem as concerned, but wants to do another ultrasound at 37 weeks to check his size again. At this point, I do not care how he enters this world...I just really want him to be here! lol I was supposed to start going weekly after that, but she said unless I wanted to, I could just come back at 37 weeks since I haven't had any complications whatsoever, so i chose just to do that, so I go back on March 3rd. I can't even believe its getting so close!

Well thats about all I have to say for now...I need to go and order my new bare floor vacuum and steam cleaner which I am also excited about getting. I am starting to feel old getting so excited over things such as beds and vacuums! You ladies take care and thanks for listening! Hugs and belly pats!

Hey hon
I'm so sorry your MIL is a horrible woman. That must be such a strain and so frustrating for you...particularly now when hormones are rampant. My MIL is a gem (i'm very lucky) although my hubby did have to have words with her at the time i was organising my wedding and she started up a bit. i'm lucky there too in that my hubby seems to always stick up for me rather than his mum. Luckily though, we got on well 99% of the time which makes things much easier.
Good luck at your next doc appointment. Your littley will be here before you (and i!) know it!! :-)))

At least your MIL wants to be somewhat involved. Mine only exists if we give her money for cigarettes or her pills. Pretty sad. But the most important thing is that we'll be sleeping on our bellies in no time! :o) Hang in there, you're doing great!

Sorry your MIL is being a BEOTCH! Anyway, I'm glad you're happy about your new bed! My hubby and I need a new bed but I don't think we can fit it in our room. We have a queen now but he's 6"3 so we need a bigger one. It is funny how the older we get, we get excited over stupid little things. When I first got the swiffer duster, I thought it was the most amazing thing ever so I told EVERYBODY about it! I was like "OMG! You have to try it....it holds IN the dust!!!" How stupid is that? Haha!!! Take care!!!

Good to hear you are doing well. Not so good to hear about the MIL:) Hang in there sweetie! I think everyones MIL comes with issues:) Mine is the NEEDIEST freakin woman on the face of the earth! She has the biggest heart and she is genuinely sweet and loving towards me but that woman is so needy and dependant on others that it drives me nuts! She calls ALL THE TIME moaning and bitching about how "i dont feel like i am part of your lives" and " you need to remember me and include me in your lives" GOOD LORD woman, we WORK and so does she!!! She keeps saying that she want to come and spend some "overnight stays" when the baby comes....HELL NO! The woman lives 10 minutes away, she can come and visit for a bit, but she needs to go home at the end of the day.....i could go on and on:) Oh well.... Take care, good to hear you got a nice bed:) (((HUGS)))

Hi honey....I can totally relate, my MIL is a royal "female dog". Always takes jabs at me behind hubby's back and is a big manipulator and drama queen. They also paid no heed to our registry and she just bought me tons of stuff, clothes , receiving blankets, bedding...nothing that matches my nursery decor..and we already have tons of clothes. We really needed them to buy us one big ticket item like the stroller which is STILL On our registry. I just took back a ton of stuff she bought us and got giftcards at two stores that I can use later. But not really stores that I would shop at for baby...too $$$...but whatever. Very annoying! She has always been like that and it always makes me feel disrespected. I am SO sorry that yours caused you so much stress. I'd be crying a lot more if mine didn't live 5 hours away. Her meddling always causes trouble between me and hubby. It's the only thing we ever fight about.
I am glad you you just got your travel system. Some people don't realise that you need most of the stuff BEFORE the baby comes. Once the baby is born it's kind of late for people to be asking you what you need right? Uh...diapers..
Now let's focus on the positive...your new BED!!! Ahhh!! So excited for you! Hubby and I also slept on a crappy bed for years to tiny to shae with our dog and cats. We then invested in a KInsize bed a few years ago and often comment on how much we love it and now also have enough room for the various pets...and baby to hang out with us soon. (not for sleeping though) PLEASE go to home depot and spend $5 to buy a 10ft x 10ft plastic painters sheet and cover your mattress just in case you happen to be one of the 10% whose waters break while you are sleeping :-) We are putting ours on this weekend :-) Under the mattress pad and sheet so we don't hear it rustling.

Thanks for listening to me venting too...I think our MILs will drive us crazy for evermore...at least you know you are not alone :-)
