04-3-2010 - Greyson\'s 1st Birthday!!!

My mood while writing this blog: sappy

Well the day came way too quickly...March 4th! I have a 1 year old now! I can't believe at this time last year I was laying in a hospital bed in labor, thinking it was never going to end and here we are a year later with our happy, healthy little boy that brings so much joy to our lives!

Currently, Greyson is working on his 9th tooth (one of his bottom canines). Not walking yet, but he gets closer and closer by the day. His new favorite thing is taking off up the stairs before we can put the gate back up. He thinks it's hilarious when we chase after him and giggles like crazy. He is saying "kitty" every time he sees his kitties and he also says meow which comes out "maa". He chases them around and yells "maa!". It's hilarious! He also says "uh oh", "yay",daddy and mama. We finally got him to wave bye bye and he always claps along with us when he does something good. He can also pull his shirt up and point to his belly button when we ask him where his belly button is. We are trying to teach him other body parts on his face, but he hasn't figured those out yet.

This day is a little bittersweet for me. I realize that my little guy isn't a baby anymore and I've had some sappy moments over the past few days thinking about how quickly the last year went. I do look forward to him learning more and more and the fun times ahead, but I'll still miss those baby moments. I don't think pregnancy hormones really help much with the emotions either. I didn't think motherhood would be as amazing as it has been and I had no idea you could possibly love someone so much.

He is so amazing and I'm so proud to be his mommy! Happy 1st Birthday sweetie!
