| 12-3-2010 - 13 Weeks | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
Well I had both an OB appt and a perinatologist appt this week. At the OB appointment they had some issues (it took 3 different nurses) to find the heartbeats. It turns out they just didn't account for the fact I was having twins because the other twin was hanging out at the top of my uterus which is much higher than it would be with a singleton. Anyway they found both...one was 144 and one was 160. The whole appointment was pretty uneventful besides the heartbeat hunt.
Then today I went for another ultrasound at the perinatologist to hopefully finally answer the burning question as to whether they share a placenta or not. Well turns out we still don't know! He is having a hard time seeing and I guess the membranes measure .3 if they have seperate chorions and thus placentas and mine is .2 something, so its really close. He really thinks they have seperate ones, but he just can't 100% make the call yet, so I go back in 3 weeks for another check. He said if we assumed they shared one placenta, they both have no indication of twin to twin transfusion yet and their sizes are great. So then he asked if we wanted to know the sexes and we said we did. He said it was still really early so any guesses could change, but he thinks Baby A might be a boy and he couldn't even see that part of Baby B, so he couldn't even make a guess. He was a little disappointed about it because if one was a boy and one was a girl he would obviously know they were separate placentas except for very rare cases. So in 3 weeks we will hopefully have an answer on the placentas and should be able to know both sexes. In the meantime, I don't mind seeing my babies this often and they both looked great so that's all that matters to me :0) Oh and my BP was an amazing 120/78 today so he was very happy and so was I!
We spill the beans to everyone on Sunday. I'm really nervous because as I have mentioned in previous blogs, my MIL is pretty unpredictable and can be a bitch. She actually told my BIL and his wife that they shouldn't have kids for at least 3 years and that she hated their names they had picked out for their kids. She obviously has some issues! I'm sure she will think we jumped the gun on having more kids since her 3 kids are spaced out 3 years apart. Oh well!
We already told my parents since they wont be able to make it to Greyson's party (they live out of state). They are so excited and even offered to buy the cribs for the babies. My mom said as soon as I felt like it was getting too much to handle Greyson especially with my orders to stay off my feet as much as possible from 22-32 weeks that she would be up here to stay with us to help out. I am so grateful for such wonderful supportive parents!
Well I guess that's all I have to write about for now! I hope everyone is doing well! I added new photos to the first page of my Photobook so take a look!
