13-4-2009 - i told my parents

My mood while writing this blog: exstatic

so, today is my fathers birthday. He's a trucker so he doesn't usually get home till late. so i figured why not leave him a birthday card at home with some homemade raviolies and on the inside of the card i told him that he and my mom were going to be grandparents... well when i got there my mom said she thought i was my dad since he was going to be home any minute... so i came up with some excuse why i had to run out and i just left (did i mention i was scared shitless?).... so about an hour and a half passes by and my father calls me.."you better get to the hospital your mother had a stroke" i said "shut up" and he just started laughing. once i heard that i knew i was golden. he was so happy and told me not to worry about my mother because it doesnt matter what she thinks, im an adult and its time to bring some new life around here. he said she was negative at first and by the end she said "well we have a spare room, it could be the nursery". he was saying how happy he was and how he couldnt wait to buy all kinds of stuff for the baby. he said when my mother told him before about my miscarriage that he wasnt a praying man but he got down on his knees and prayed for "the little guy, whomever he may be". he said we need new life around here and it will be good. i told him how far i was and he said "jesus christ hillary!" he didnt think i was that far, probably thought i was only a month or so. before he got off the phone he said i love you, and i love the baby...

so it went very well!! my girlfriend says im a coward for the way i did it, but i am not good with my emotions an sharing them with my parents, never have. but i have a feeling from here on out everything is going to be fantastically different between all of us...

i cried because i was so happy.
