21-6-2009 - an amazing friend

So i have been friends with this girl since about 7th grade. so about ten years.. For the past two years she has lived in north carolina with her husband and we dont get to see eachother much. since i have become pregnant she has been so supportive and even though far away she has been one of the people very much there for me while pregnant. So she comes home for the weekend for another friends birthday and I go to her house. There she has a couple of outfits for the baby and tells me we are going to target to pick out a basinet for the baby. She had picked out two for me to choose from that she thought I would like. One was a basinet that was also a pack'n'play and the other was more expensive but absolutley gorgeous. It wasnt a pack n play but it was Eddie Bauer and a dark cherry wood with a storage site underneath. Basically we chose that one and it just touched me so much that she would even think about purchasing this for our child. Then as if that wasn't enough we went to Ross and she picked out even more outfits for the baby!! She kept asking if i was uncomfortable with this, which i wasnt I just kept letting her know that she really didnt need to do this. She told me this is the closest thing she will have to a niece and that I am one of her best friends and she wanted to do this. Then today she calls and offers me her house here in NJ for TWO YEARS. It isn't being used and the rent would only be 200$ a month. That includes electric water and heat and all that good stuff. I just really couldn't believe she would do something like this. It wasnt even something that ever crossed my mind as a possibility. We were going to live with my parents untill we saved more to be more stable. It just really touches me that she would even consider doing something like this for my family. Its weird I have been friends with one girl since second grade and she hardley speaks to me anymore, which is weird you would think she would want to be involved with me and the babies life. Then there is this friend from 7th grade who I havent even seen much in the past two years and she is more like a sister then anyone. It just amazes me how wonderful some people are and how much of a heart this girl posesses. She just cares about my wellbeing and the wellbeing of my family. I just hope that some day I can do something to help her.

We definitely need more people like that in this world! Just imagine the beautiful world our kids would be living in! It must be wonderful to have such a great person in your life, but i always say life dish out what YOU hand out, so i'm sure karma is giving u exactly what you deserve (a great ,supportive friend) because somewhere along the line YOU must have done something nice for someone else! Thanks for sharing your story, it's really nice to read positivities now and again. Mwah!
