04-3-2009 - I love being a mum

Hi ladies, so I finally got round to writing a blog, and all I can say is I am loving being a mum to Oakley, it is absolutely the best thing in the world. To wake up and see his smiling face every morning is the best start to the day!

Oakley is 13 wks and 4 days old now and had his injections yesterday. He was such a brave boy, I fed him while he had them and he only noticed the second one and just shouted for a second on the next. He was a little niggly in the evening but is fine now.

He is weighing 12lbs 13oz and is still feeding really well. I have started to give him a little baby rice for dinner and tea and he seems to enjoy it. He is sleeping brilliantly too, for the last five weeks he has slept through for me giving me some much needed uninterrupted sleep! I bath him about 7ish then he has a massage, which really chills him out and then I give him a feed about 9ish and he will sleep through till 6 wake for a quick feed then goes back off till 9.30.

I think Oakley is starting to teeth too-he is dribbling all the time and tries to put everything into his mouth.

As for me, I have been back at work for 3 weeks now, I wish I didn't have to but its my own business so I kinda have to. Its ok though I work monday, tuesday and friday for 4 hours in the mornings while my mum looks after Oakley. I am so lucky to have her look after him as I wouldn't like to leave him at a nursery and she is great with him. As I work for myself its great because if Oakley needs feeding my mum just gives me a call and I can go feed him, then carry on.

I have managed to shift all my baby weight and more, I am almost a stone lighter than before I got pregnant which I am glad about. I put it down to breast feeding and would recommend it to everyone.

I am so happy to have my little man, he is the most precious thing in my world and I couldn't imagine my life without him. I love him so much!!
