25-6-2009 - Oakley update-7 months old HappyMy mood while writing this blog:
Happy

Well Oakley will turn 7 months old on Monday, where does all the time go. This time last year I was looking forward to my 20 week scan so we could find out if we were expecting a boy or a girl.

He is doing really well, he was sitting up at 5 months, started crawling just before he turned 6 months and this week has started to pull himself up on the furniture-he's definately going to be a handful! I can't take my eyes off hi for a second as he is into everything and is so quick.

We went on our first proper holiday as a family a couple of weeks ago. It was brilliant and we all enjoyed it so much. Oakley was fine on the aeroplane and after worrying that I'd forget something vital, I didn't and instead took way too much stuff-lol! Oakley loved the swimming pools and playing with the other kids. I do feel as though I need another holiday though, just the three of us, as 12 of us went (6 adults and 6 kids under 4) so it wasn't a quiet one, haha!

I am still taking Oakley to swimming classes and he is doing really well. He loves going underwater and he can now float on his own with his armbands on.

Oakley is fully weaned now. He has porridge, cereal or rusks for breakfast. a yoghurt or fruit pot for a snack then dinner and tea with a little dessert if he's still hungry. He was sleeping so well before we went on holiday but since we got back has been a nightmare at night so I am now giving him a bottle of goodnight milk before bed which is working at the moment, the rest of the day I am still breastfeeding.

There are still no sign of any teeth on the way, apart from excessive dribbling and everything he gets hold of going in his mouth!

The waiting game is on now as to when the next baby will arrive. The breastfeeding seems to be working as a contraceptive at the mo, but I am so looking forward to being pregnant again. We would love another baby sometime next year but we'll just have to wait and see.

Anyways hope you are all well. Speak soon. Hollie x

awwww just read your blog as i had seen on the 9 month forum that your son has taken his first steps and i was curious as to when he began getting mobile. My daughter is 7 months old today and she pulled herself to standing using the sofa yesterday and used the stairs a few days before that (supervised) and she was crawling and sitting at the same time too and rolling across the room at 19 weeks. I guess if my LO follows your sons pattern she's going to be a quick walker too. good luck when you TTC :)

Aww, loved reading your update! Sounds like your wee man is doing so well! :) Isaac also started sitting at 5 months and has been trying to crawl ever since, but he just cant master it! He loves to stand and will walk if you support his weight/hold his hands....so maybe hes gonna skip crawling and go straight to walking! We are also hoping for another baby next year, around November again so that theres a 2 year gap! As you know, am still breastfeeding most of the day as well, as still havent had a period (yay in some ways!) so the breastfeeding is acting as our contraceptive too....but we are happy to be preggers again if it does happen! :)
