Thank you to those that made comments, even the judgemental ones- I understand your questioning. I think pregnancy is a personal experience and to each their own. I posted my most personal journey knowingly, and willing to accept whatever comments came from it. I recognize that the decision I made last year is upsetting- certainly for me- and sometimes for others who cannot imagine themselves in that situation..
At any rate, this is week six and I had an eventful time. I met my doctor and had bloodwork done. She encouraged me to decide between midwife and an OBGYN so I spent the week googling both, asking other people's opinions, other parents experiences. My sister -and quite a few local people here- recommended midwifery. In my conversation with my doctor she also leaned towards a midwife. All 100% covered by medical here. You get slightly longer appointments (n hour each month until further along) as well as AFTER birth care (every other day after birth they come to your house to help you transition) which I may very well need. I like the idea of knowing the woman who helps me during my birth process as opposed to whatever doctor is on call.
The midwife clinic is really neat. It's an older character home filled with beautiful creative photos of womens bellies - a free small library you can sign out books on the honor system- and a clothing exchange (also free) in a large cedar trunk for maternity clothes and baby clothes. Its just these kinds of things that I don't believe I would find in a hospital.
Feeling good otherwise- no morning sickness, still sore boobs, minor bladder infection that I am treating with cranberry tabs and serious amounts of water. I may have to go to the doctor if I can't rid it myself but I'd prefer not to take antibiotics if I can quash this on my own. Hope everyone else is well and I look forward to meeting more of you moms and moms to be =) and comment whatever you wish- I cannot be offended and I honor all responses. Your opinion or feelings are welcome no matter what they are. Baby dust to all =)
