23-11-2011 - week 10 comes to an end...

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Dentist appt today, which was good timing. I hadn't been since July 2010 so it was far, far overdue. I'm apparently going to go every 3-4 months to keep on top of my dental care while pregnant. After this I am going to google about that to find out more about why dental care is so important now. Some things I can figure out on my own but I'm sure there are other fascinating facts I didn't know.

Midwife appt today also. We reviewed medical histories for both me and him (although I went alone, no point in him going to these early appts), and discussed my next steps for risk assessment. Sometime between oh, now and Dec 14 I need to go in for my bloodwork and definitely next week or so I should get my 12 week ultrasound scan. I believe I am doing 2 scans- one is for the risk assessment to measure the neck of the baby. The other I think is just a routine scan for checkup on development. I think the risk assessment one should be done now, and the other in 4 weeks? Does that sound right? Anyways other than his smoking and my exposure to second hand smoke she was quite impressed I think that I knew to take my calcium apart from my prenatals, and my diet was good, my weight good, my general health good. I've had a hard time focusing lately- making stupid errors at work and getting very tense and internalizing. I will blame part of this on pregnancy and the other part on astrology =) since Mercury is retrograde and the new moon is in a few days.

I find my dreams oddly sexual lately which makes me wonder if perhaps this is a BOY in there. Could it be testosterone in my system?!? Have to wait until January for private clinic time for proof of pink or blue, but certainly these dreams make me wonder. I've had a few in the past couple weeks, but I had so thought other than this that it is a girl. I *felt* it was a girl. Now I don't know. Either way, I just want confirmation that we are developing well and normally, like I am sure we are.
