| 04-1-2010 - Membrane Stripped Today | My mood while writing this blog:Hopeful |
So i'm now 37 weeks and 5 days with my boy/girl twins. I cannot believe I have made it this far. The very few complications I thought i've had, are minor and standard when considered by my doctor. The babies seem to have grown so well, and as of the 28th my babies were estimated to be 6lbs 6ozs each. Even if that was a generous estimate, we still know that they are doing well. I did however have to go to the hospital this weekend for some non stress tests and some blood pressure readings.. cause it was sneaking up on me. Because we hadn't yet booked a c-section date, and the doctors at the hospital thought I should discuss the date with my OB, I went in to the clinic this morning. I am now 3 cm dialated and thinned out quite a bit she said. She asked if I wanted my membranes stripped, and I said.. yeah.. anything to get me to the hospital sooner! People say it hurts terribly.. and yeah, it was uncomfortable.. but not THAT bad. She gave me a pad to put on cause she told me to expect lots of discharge and some bleeding too. I'm interested to see what comes of this, and if it will be effective. At least I know that in the coming days (even if this doesnt work) i'll be scheduled for surgery. I made it full term with twins.. what a blessing! Have any of you had your membranes stripped in the past and have it work that same day? I'm hopeful :)
Thanks for reading
