06-11-2009 - 10 Week Appointment

My mood while writing this blog: Excited

I had my appointment today!! Everything went great. We were able to hear the baby's heartbeat and it was 167 bpm. He (I think it's a he) was moving all around and he even waved at Michael and me. He is two inches long and measured 10.6 weeks. My doctor said that technically I'm considered 11 weeks.

When the u/s started I did not think there was a heartbeat. Once the doctor got the right angle on the little one and his little chest started to flicker it took my breath away. I gasped and said “oh it moved” and stated to cry. The nurse in the room grabbed my ankle. I think she was holding her breath too. Everyone at my doctor’s office knows what we have been through and they were all excited for us. I can not explain the relief.

I have not been feeling much in the way of symptoms. The nausea is much better. Not gone but better. They say that is normal at 10/11 weeks. My BBs soreness comes and goes. I have been more tired. I definitely need my naps. Mood swings are crazy!

If you are a prayer please keep my little one in your prayers. If not please keep your fingers crossed for us. We have to go for a NT scan around Thanksgiving. Then our next doctor’s appointment is on December 5^th. I told the doctor and nurse that the last four weeks were the longest in my life. They said I could come in any time I wanted to check on the baby using the Doppler.
