| 23-1-2009 - U/S Tomorrow! | My mood while writing this blog:Busy! |
Well, this week has been crazy. First the complaints:
1) My face is starting to look like a war-zone - I have NEVER has so many zits in my life. ACK!
2) I go from looking completely normal one day to 4 1/2 months pregnant the next, then back again. I am getting paranoid that co-workers & students are staring at my belly.
3) One day I am totally energetic, making lists, getting things done. The next day I'm lying on the couch the moment I get home, rising only to pee or to puke.
4) I keep freaking out about the ultrasound tomorrow - sometimes convinced there'll be no heartbeat, sometimes convinced there'll be 3!
5) I go from being so cuddly with my husband that I'm following him around the house to telling him things like, "I used to think you were just trying to piss me off because you thought it was funny. Now I think it's just you. The essence of you pisses me off."
Now the craziness. Tomorrow we drive 3 hours for the u/s, we need to meet a friend for lunch, do some shopping & get hubby a haircut. Then we drive 2 hours to a family birthday. All family in town has cats, so we can't stay with anyone. We'll complete the triangle by driving 3 hours back home & arrive sometime around midnight. In the meantime, I'll still be trying to keep my mouth shut about the u/s results for another 3 weeks, while my belly is shouting, "Look at me! Don't I look different!!?"
As the week progresses, I need to drive back to town (3 hours) on Wednesday for my follow-up appointment, come back to make a presentation to my staff on Thursday, followed by driving 1 hour to a supper meeting that night. The following week I'm in a course for 2 days while I leave my students with a sub. The next 2 weeks in a row I'm driving to meetings 6 hours away (and leaving my kids with a sub). The following week I bet I'll have another appointment with my doc... It's a good thing the 1st trimester woes should be over!!!
