| 07-5-2009 - newly pregnant after femara & gonal-F | My mood while writing this blog:happy |
My husband and I have been TTC for 18 months. My cycles had been very long, so I have the working dx of PCOS, although I am atypical. My husband had a normal SA. I used the Clear Blue Easy fertility monitor for about six months. Always had a LH surge, but never conceived. We did femara x 3 months, I always had 1-2 mature follicles, but we didn't conceive. This was my first month of femara + gonal F, two mature eggs this cycle. I had a progesterone checked eight days post ovulation, and it was 46.4, which is pretty high. The nurse told me that it could be a early sign of pregnancy, but not to get my hopes up too much. I had a positive pregnancy test last week (day 14 after ovulation). The following day (day 15 after ovulation), my HCG was 149. Two days later it was 443. The fellow said that I had a 50/50 chance of twins! I have a ultrasound in about a week, and it's been hard for me to wait. I've been researching HCG values online, but bottom line is that I need to wait for the US. Based on the numbers though, I am thinking twins...
Before we started infertility treatment, my husband was deathly afraid of multiples. He still would prefer a singleton, but he is still excited that we are pregnant. My due date is Jan 10th, but if I am pregnant with twins, I'm sure it will be earlier than that!
