Gundul means bald. Digundulin means to bald the hair.
Poor lil Nadine. My baby was born with a lot of hair on her head, and yet not too thick. The weather is so hot but humid lately (well...I live in tropical country), and it makes my lil one sweating a lot. And some days ago, I found out that she got dandruff on her hair. I tried to clean the dandruff by brushing her hair and gave it VCO (virgin coconut oil), but not all of the dandruff gone away. Her Abi told me to cut off her hair to bald so it would be easier to clean up the dandruff off, besides ... she's 40-day-old anyway (in our custom, usually parents cut off their children's hair until bald after 40 days).
I did it on last Friday ( Sept 12, 08). My mom helped me to shave the hair. Yes it seems easier to clean up her hair. But I got tremble to touch her head everytime I take her (just like te 1st time...when she was just born), for I'm afraid I'll hurt her. I'm afraid she'll irritated :-(
But I did all this for her good. Hope in a few days ahead all the dandruff will just go away...and my Nadine's hair will grow beautifully again.

It sounds like Cradle Cap - quite common in babies. The oil should be good or you can buy specific medications. The thing is though it is a SKIN condition not a hair one! Shaving will make accesss easier but really not any difference. GENTLY rub the head when you are washing your baby and make sure you dry the head properly and it will go away soon enough. Good luck
