28-5-2009 - First Trip to Hospital

My mood while writing this blog: relieved

Yesterday evening I had my first scare this pregnancy that caused a trip to hospital. While using bathroom I went to wipe and saw blood on tissue. I panicked and had to calm self to remember what to do. After speaking with dr on call I was told to come in to labor and delivery. The end result was good and bad, apparently due to my diraherra that I have had constantly I was bleeding from rectum. The good new was baby boy is fine. Was laying on my left side and played knock knock with nurse when she was putting monitor on me. Everytime she pressed on stomach he kicked back. His heartbeat was very strong and cervix is still closed. I thank God that is all that was wrong. It gave me an idea of how far the hospital is from my house and gosh I never realized the trip for me from Virginia Beach to Norfolk would take so long, and my son said Ma we are coming from the end of one city to the end of another what you expect. So I do know that when the little man does decide to come I pray he gives me notice so we can get there in time.... smile

I'm happy for you that everything was ok. I'm sure you are relieved. As far as the long trip to the hospital, your dr may schedule you to be induced. I know because of age that is what they did with me. I was induced one week before my due date. Good luck and take care of yourself.
