| 12-7-2009 - Oh my gosh too funny | My mood while writing this blog:amused |
I have heard there are some things you dont forget like riding a bike. Well today I must say funny and may have to practice.
Although I have a 4 1/2 yr old granddaughter I never bathed her as a baby. Well today I had to bath my new granddaughter who is 3 months. My prep was fine got the tub out and all the required things. 1st funny thing was the tub. There was a label that said push down to lock. I am looking at this 1st step tub wondering lock what? I messed with that for a few min before I said not important. Then came the bathing itself. Oh my gosh I forgot how to hold a baby in the tub and all. Remember its been 20 yrs since my last was a baby. It did come to me to wash hair first. Well if i couldn't remember how to hold baby you can imagine the washing of hair. So I got out a small cup and started pouring over back of her hair. She just laughed. That gave me encoragement. So I layed her back and poured water over her body and she kept laughing. well I can say we got through it. She was so encouraging all the way.
Afterwards while drying her off she just smiled at me and laughed as if to say I wont tell no one grandma that you didnt know what you were doing. And as a thank you she spit up then laughed with sound.
It was the funniest thing for me. 1st glad my son told me she loves baths and it proved true. 2nd I realize I may need practice on a lot of those small things I was taking for granted I would remember and last these babies are better teachers than we can imagine.
I got 5 days to get buzy learning something that is common sense and a repeat so baby boy will benefit.
