10-8-2008 - Glucose tolerance

My mood while writing this blog: OK

I had my glucose tolerance this past week. Oh boy, I didn't feel well during that hour wait to have my blood drawn. I was kinda hungry that morning because I only ate 2 eggs (I work in the lab and I was told don't eat anything sweet the night before or for breakfast by the phlebotomists). So I drank the orange drink, and went back to my department to work...while I was working I started to overheat and get sweaty. My co-worker said I should lie down for the remainder of the time I had to wait to be drawn...so I did. But I didn't feel well the rest of the day. I had super bad heartburn all day...rolaids didn't work but that night I had a bowl of ice cream and that seemed to do the trick. Luckily I passed the glucose tolerance test with no problem...because I don't think I could of tolerated a 3 hr test.
