| 20-7-2009 - Week 16... | My mood while writing this blog:Stressed/moved house... |
This week I have mainly concentrated on moving house...and finding out the sex of our baby...
and OMG what a blooming move that was...lol...
We had a house in an area where regeneration is happening, the house was falling down around our ears but we were holding out for the payment as you can never turn down £5k unfortunately this was not the case as I had enough when the torrential rain was pooring into my bathroom through the light fitting, and the empty houses was attracting rodents...urgh...plus the old tenant kept coming to the door to see if we were in, she is one rough nasty piece of skirt, a local prostitute, heroin user and banned from the area including the house...then our neighbours three doors down were robbed blind in the middle of the day whilst the young lass was in bed (she is deaf)...and the police found prints on our doors and windows aswell... so I started looking for a new property!
The first house on my search came up as a beautiful old victorian three storey 4 beds house, on a historic road, I didnt think we would ever get it but asked for a viewing anyways, and got one for later that day, I fell in love with the property as soon as I went in, all newly refurbished, new central heating, double glazing and laminate flooring downstairs, new carpets on stairs and upper floors, brand new bathroom with laminate floor aswell, I asked about the rent, which was under our budget, so I was made up, then then deposit was halved because they wanted a family in, but had only had interest from students...I said I would discuss with partner and ring later in evening...you see I fall in love with properties and just say yeah taken, then find all problems afterwards...but my partner was as enamoured as I and we rang back and asked to be put forward for it, all I had to do was pay the monies, and done keys in hand. I was gobsmacked...first property to look at and there we are, we got it in less than 24 hours...
The day after we went for our 16 weeks gender scan in Leeds...And found a little girl bubble in there, whoop!
Less than three days later we moved in as this was the only time the removal men could fit us in...stressfull packing lol...and the teething problems began...
The electric lights upstairs went, which apparently took out the boiler, so no bathing...eeep! this was the fri night and I didnt yet have the out of hours number, and two days later the gas fire in the front room started emitting a huge leak, and the emergency service threw us out of the house until they could establish it was safe, they capped it off and gave us a danger warning, so at this point I had no heating at all, luckily it was warm days, I had also waited in three days for this electrician and eventually rang the landlord with the attitude of sort it today or I move back out...hence electrician turning up within the hour, then the pumber fixed the fire soon after, a handy man came to see all the little bug bears and what he could do, I was impressed with my threat, lmao.
Lights and heating on, fire working we sigh with relief and everyone starts to get baths...when my 11 year old got in the bath water pours down through the kitchen roof, we mop it all up and tell him off for over filling the bath AGAIN, as he always does...
Then my partner gets a bath...OMG... it was torrential in the kitchen, my friend and I were placing pots and pans in all main areas after shouting up to him...we tear the side off the bath and....the plumbing was fooked...water was pouring through from the plug hole, the overflow and pipes, the overflow didnt even have a damn pipe!!!! So the poor plumber had to come back out, and found that some idiot had undone all the pipes etc, and had to fix all the damage done, the only assumption we could all make was that the landlord had upset one of his workers, hence all the problems...So tonight I will finally get a bath, after a week and a day, phewie...stand up washes twice daily just does not get you feeling clean!!!
So, new house, new hope and new plumbing, lights and stuff... lmao.
xxx Hope you are all well xxx
