| 25-1-2009 - 19 weeks | My mood while writing this blog:happy |
So I've almost hit the halfway mark! We had a routine 18 week ultrasound and the doctor let me know that I have a low lying placenta. The baby has been breech since out 14 week ultrasound and this is probably the culprit. He said about 90% of low lying placenta's correct themself by the 32 week mark. I REALLY do hope so. I have just had my heart set on a natural labor but if I must have a c-section then thats the way it goes. I had a bad day following the ultrasound full of pregnant scared tears but all is well now. I have accepted it might be a real possibility for me. The other thing was he was unable to confirm the sex because of the baby's position-bummer. We had an ultrasound at 14 weeks and the tech told me she is 100% certain it is a boy but I was looking foward to the 18 week u/s to confirm..I'll have another u/s at 32 weeks to make sure the placenta has moved up so hopefully we will be able to tell then. My placenta is also anterior which is dangerous for a low lying placenta. If the have to section me they must be very carefull because the placenta is where they usually make the cut in the uterus so say a little prayer for me and the baby that this all works itself out. Im feeling him move around alot but not as much as I would if my placenta was in the right spot..all of the kicks are down low because of him being breech and my placenta is acting like a cushion to all that movement =(..
On a better note the doc says the baby looks great!!Here is the belly at 19 weeks
